What Dots?

When we talk about Life Dots, what exactly do we mean?  Defined by us individually, Life Dots depict "what makes us tick" each day. They are the anchors of our lives that we consider important factors to make us complete.

Below you will find a list of 11 Life Dots - the first dimension of  categorizing the important things within our lives.  A number of these came from "The Wheel of Life" exercise utlized in the CTI (Coaching Training Institute) Co-Active Coaching Certification. Use these as a starting point to take stock of where you are at in your life, what's resonating with you & what's bringing you down.

Remember individuals view their Life Dots depending on where we are in our lives, our experiences, our perspectives, our values, our dreams.  We can have short & long term dots, micro & macro dots and Dots can change, as we evolve.  Lastly - be aware of how much can be considered under each dot - for example career could include movement within current company, experience industry or professional change, resume construction, preparation for an interview, networking development, etc

Life Dots

  • Career
  • Health (includes diet, exercise regime, stress load)
  • Personal Growth (what you're doing to develop yourself)
  • Physical Environment (your home)
  • Family
  • Friends
  • Fun & Recreation
  • Romance/ significant other
  • Financial stress
  • Volunteering/ Charitable Work
  • Global Environment

During your first coaching session, we will use these dots to assist us in better understanding where you wanted to focus your coaching time. In time they may be used to help focus on your definition of personal life success,  your life purpose statement and be the holder of the reminders or steps to get there.

Quarterly I upload a sample of my personal Life Dots to the site in hopes that reviewing mine, may encourage you to think about or revisit yours. Use a complimentary Co-active Coaching session to help you get started.
